The event was attended by the Sultan of Selangor, Sharafuddin Idris Shah, who honored several influential figures in the cultural scene, including the House of Wisdom, in recognition of its role in supporting the book industry, promoting reading, and advancing children's and young adult literature. Prior to the opening ceremony, the House of Wisdom team visited the Selangor Public Library. They were welcomed by the institution's president, Mustafa Mohamed, who guided the team on a comprehensive tour of the library's facilities to familiarize them with its programs and community services. This visit was part of reciprocal efforts aimed at enhancing cultural and intellectual cooperation between the two organizations. The House of Wisdom team also met with the management of the Selangor Public Library to discuss ways to boost cultural and intellectual collaboration, leveraging the shared knowledge values and civilizational visions that unite the Emirati and Malaysian cultures. As part of the 'Selangor International Forum' events, the Executive Director of the House of Wisdom, Mura al-Qurbi, participated in two panel discussions. The first was titled 'Books for the Future: Children's Content and Global Connection,' and the second was 'Reading Sparks Ideas... and Libraries Change the World.' The sessions featured a select group of leaders from the library, children's, and young adult literature sectors from Malaysia, China, and South Korea. Both panels were moderated by the President of the Malaysian Board for Young Adult Books, Ahmad Riza Khyaruddin.
