Malaysia expressed categorical opposition to any plans regarding the forced evacuation of Palestinians from the Gaza sector. This statement follows the proposal by U.S. President Donald Trump to take control over the devastated area due to the war and the displacement of its residents to other places.
"Malaysia categorically opposes and condemns any proposals discussing the evacuation of residents from Gaza regardless of their will," said the statement from the Malaysian government.
Representing the position of his country, the Malaysian Minister of Foreign Affairs expressed concern about the possible situation in which Palestinians could forcibly be relocated from their homes. The country insists that any decisions regarding Gaza must be discussed with the participation of all interested parties and based on dialogue and peaceful negotiations.
"Respecting the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Palestinian people is fundamental," the minister added.
Malaysia calls on international efforts to achieve a just and lasting resolution to the conflict in the region.
